I blame the parents!

Its easy to blame parents for fussy eating in children but research shows feeding difficulties are due to a skills deficit (1). Eating is actually a learned behaviour that we often overlook and think it comes naturally.

We can teach our children to eat but we need to remember that every child is different and some may take longer than others to enjoy a varied diet.

Do you find mealtimes stressful because they won’t eat what you have made?

Many of us parents do at some point. Did you know that;

  • ¼ to ⅓ of all children go through some feeding problems between the ages of 0 to 10 years (1).
  • Only about ½ of children will outgrow their fussy eating/picky eating (1).
